Come and join us in building the infrastructure our planet needs to achieve a sustainable future.The ProjectThe M80 Ring Road Alliance (comprising ACCIONA, MACA, and AECOM) has been selected to design and construct the M80 Ring Road Completion. The project will deliver a major upgrade of the M80 Ring Road between the M80-Plenty Road interchange and the North East Link tunnel entrance at Watsonia, providing a seamless connection to North East Link. Works include the construction of 14 kilometres of new lanes, bulk earthworks, retaining walls, bridge structures, rail interface works, intelligent transport systems, urban design, and landscaping. This diverse and challenging project will be completed in 2028.The RoleThis position is responsible for coordinating and championing Aboriginal participation across the M80RR Alliance from pursuit to delivery, to maximize successful project outcomes. Reporting to the Diversity & Inclusion Manager, the Aboriginal Participation Advisor is to build the Indigenous cultural competency of the Alliance. You are a positive and influential leader aiming to educate, guide and oversee the coordination of all aspects relating to Indigenous engagement both internally and externally to the Alliance.Within the Alliance, you are an advocate for creating a culturally safe workplace for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Attraction to and retention of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples within NELP will be a true measure of your success.Key Accountabilities for the PositionEstablish and strengthen mutually beneficial relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stakeholders and organisations.Function as a representative for the Alliance in these external interactions with the wider community.Positive and proactive stakeholder engagement including addressing external resourcing and talent acquisition of Aboriginal/TSI people.Assist with Social Procurement targets by engaging Aboriginal businesses with opportunities for tender.Manage the interface between Design, Delivery, NELP and the Wurundjeri to ensure the successful integration and alignment of project requirements and Traditional Owner cultural requirements.Enhancing M80RRA's Indigenous advocacy performance through critical thought leadership and a deep technical understanding of national and regional matters affecting Indigenous peoples.Work with the internal communications team to deliver Cultural Awareness Training and activities that appropriately celebrate National Reconciliation Week (NRW) and NAIDOC Week with the purpose of building respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and histories including raising awareness and sharing information amongst our staff.Promote positive race relations through anti-discrimination strategies.Increase understanding, value and recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories, knowledge and rights through cultural learning initiatives for the Alliance.Skills & Experience RequiredAbility to build effective working relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.Experience operating in a similar role.A genuine desire to drive real positive change and engagement across the project and the wider community.What We OfferAt ACCIONA, we offer a dynamic and challenging work environment where our employees can grow and develop their careers.
