Full & Part Time, Permanent ContractsHours negotiable, total 1.4FTE availableThis is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander identified roleNortheast Health Wangaratta (NHW) is the major health provider in the Central Hume region with an extensive range of acute, sub-acute, aged care and community services.
NHW has recently reviewed the structure and deliverables of the Aboriginal Health service in line with funding guidelines and national standards for providing culturally safe health care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
The Aboriginal Liaison Officer (ALO) will work with the Diversity and Inclusion Team to improve the outcomes of patients who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. The ALO will do this by:
Providing one on one engagement and support to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients;Liaising with community to support individual health self-determination;Supporting community members to link with hospital, community health and primary care services;Supporting Northeast Health Wangaratta's planning for cultural safety.The successful applicant will benefit from: Competitive remuneration, novated leasing and full salary packaging benefits available.
