Management - Internal (Human Resources & Recruitment)
The central object of the Movement is to assist Aboriginal persons (especially those Aboriginal persons who are detained in custody or imprisoned) to relieve their poverty, the consequences of their dispossession and social misfortune and to assist further in removing destitution and helplessness amongst Aboriginal people through the use of the legal system of the State of South Australia and the Commonwealth of Australia.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the HR and training team in the education and coaching of managers and employees on HR policies and procedures and work health and safety requirements. Engage, partner with and influence Managers with strong coaching and consultation skills. Build trusted relationships and coaching capability at all levels to enhance a culture of high-performance. Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances or other issues. Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management. Lead enterprise bargaining negotiations. Lead the HR team in assisting managers to understand the terms within employment contracts, awards and other industrial agreements. Develop, review and continuously improve HRM systems, processes, programs, policies and initiatives. Draw up employment contracts in-line with industrial agreements, organisation and funding body requirements. Create Job and Person specifications for new roles in-line with industrial agreements, organisation and funding body requirements. Lead the HR team in maintaining the digital human resources management system. Write, at least quarterly, reports to the senior management group, CEO and ALRM Board about key HR and WHS issues incorporating people and WHS metrics. Calculate and analyse key metrics (where these are not provided by the HRM system) for reporting to senior management and the Board. Oversee the end-to-end recruitment processes in partnership and onboarding of staff. When direct reports are on leave, carry out their duties or delegate among the team. Other duties as required and/or requested by the CEO or his/her delegate. Actively participate and contribute to responsible and safe work practices by ensuring all WHS legislation, policies and procedures are adhered to within the workplace. This includes any directive given by the Human Services department in relations to any pandemics. Embracing diversity and cultural differences in the workplace by modelling respectful behavior. Minimum Qualifications
Has extensive prior experience in a senior generalist human resources management role Experience in strategic talent management and workforce planning Experienced in handling industrial relations issues including, but not limited to leading an organisation through enterprise agreement bargaining or organisation wide systems change. Must have a comprehensive knowledge of contemporary HRM and WHS practices and legislative requirements. Be people oriented and results driven Excellent active listening, negotiation and presentation skills Experience with digital human resource management systems Tertiary level qualifications (to master's level) in human resources, organisation development, psychology or related field. Holds a demonstrated track record of fostering organisational culture and building capacity Knowledge of Equal Opportunity, Work, Health, Safety and Welfare standards. Commitment to the principles of social justice and sound knowledge, and understanding of, contemporary and historical issues as they relate to Aboriginal people in South Australia An understanding of the objectives of Aboriginal Legal Rights Movement, its services and clients. Membership of AHRI or other relevant professional association. Knowledge and understanding of the Organisations Core Values (Code of Ethics) and the Employee Conduct Policy. Application Process
