About the role

The primary focus of your position is to support the protection of Aboriginal cultural heritage (ACH) values on Parks Victoria managed land in the Metro Region. You will work with the Aboriginal Heritage Coordinator to support district staff to implement Parks Victoria's policies and procedures for protecting ACH, in line with the organisation's Managing Country Together principles and legislative requirements and embed ACH values into operational planning and priority-setting. You will work closely with Traditional Owners and other land management partners to identify appropriate measures to protect Aboriginal heritage values on the parks estate and support the implementation of on-ground partnership projects that improve the knowledge, security, and condition of ACH values. The position will also have a key role in supporting North Region staff to improve their understanding and capacity in ACH protection. We're looking for someone with:

Good Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Identification and management skills. Tertiary qualification in Aboriginal Cultural Heritage management is desirable. Ability to manage high workloads and meet timelines. Experience in working effectively with Traditional Owners.
