About the Role The Aboriginal Health Coordinator works closely with the Director Aboriginal Health Partnerships and the team on Aboriginal Health programs and initiatives; ensuring priorities are aligned to the strategic goals of HNC, the HNC Aboriginal Health Partnership and responsive to the needs of local Aboriginal communities.
The role is focused on building strong partnerships and collaborative work projects to assist in the development and implementation of cross-sector Aboriginal Health initiatives. The role will also be required to develop, implement and evaluate Aboriginal health and wellbeing projects and programs, including the Integrated Team Care program.

Applicants for this position must be: of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent Must identify as being Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Must be accepted as such in the community in which they live Demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal Health and issues affecting local Aboriginal communities Demonstrated project management skills, experience in preparing meeting papers, contributing to reports and taking minutes High level of knowledge and experience working with or in partnership with Aboriginal Community organisations or programs aimed at improving Aboriginal health outcomes Experience in planning and project management including effective leadership skills Experience with engaging with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander organisations, peoples and communities in the HNC footprint Understanding of primary health care and Indigenous health issues, priorities and policies and experience in partnering with Aboriginal organisations and working with Aboriginal communities Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets and database applications A strong Communicator with the ability to tailor spoken/written communication accurately and effectively Proven capacity to work effectively within a team while also taking initiative for their own work and ensuring a high quality of work is produced and outcomes met in a timely fashion A strong commitment to principles such as Work Health and Safety, Equal Employment Opportunity, Cultural Safety, and Continuous Improvement, ensuring a workplace that aligns with these values Relevant post-secondary qualifications in a field such as health promotion, public health, community development, indigenous studies or workplace training desirable. 5+ years' experience in similar How to Apply Please forward your resume and a maximum three-page cover letter demonstrating how you meet the above selection criteria to ****** .
