The OpportunityJoin CESL as an Aboriginal Education Officer and play a pivotal role in supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, fostering cultural safety, and promoting educational success. This position involves collaborating with schools to enhance student wellbeing and attendance, providing leadership in curriculum development, and delivering professional learning to school staff.You will work closely with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education team, developing initiatives that respect and celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. This role can be based in Bendigo, Wangaratta or Tatura.Key ResponsibilitiesPromote culturally inclusive environments in schools, focusing on the wellbeing and success of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.Lead professional learning and support the integration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into the curriculum.Collaborate with schools to address student attendance, wellbeing, and cultural safety.Foster relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations, including ACM and NATISCC.Support the delivery of the FIRE Carrier Program (Friends Igniting Reconciliation through Education).What You Will BringTeaching qualification with VIT registration and an unrestricted Victorian Driver's License.Strong knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and experience leading educational initiatives in culturally inclusive environments.Dedication to the values of Catholic education and a passion for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander education.Why CESL?At CESL, we are committed to creating a supportive workplace where diversity is valued, and staff are empowered to make a meaningful impact.
