Sydney Region Aboriginal Corporation (SRAC) is a community controlled not-for-profit Indigenous Corporation based in Penrith. Our mission is to improve the health, social, emotional, and economic wellbeing of Aboriginal people.

SRAC provides a range of programs to address the ongoing disparity in outcomes of Indigenous people. We facilitate early diagnosis and early intervention of disability and/or at-risk behaviours, education, family supports, cultural connection, and capacity building training and support services in an environment that fosters resilience and self-determination.
About the role
The Care Services Manager is responsible for the planning, implementation, and ongoing management of NDIS, My Aged Care, CHSP programs and activities for participants at SRAC and for the wider Aboriginal Community in Western Sydney. The Care Services Manager supervises a team of Support workers to provide intake and assessment, individual care planning and to facilitate the transition of participants to NDIS or My Aged Care services. Tasks include allocation of client referrals, managing the Client Management System, invoicing, NDIS support coordination, and overseeing the development and delivery of all care services.
Essential Criteria Aboriginality. This position is an identified Aboriginal position. Aboriginality is a genuine qualification authorised under Section 14(d) of the Anti-Discrimination ACT 1977.Qualifications in Community Services, Aged Care, Social Work or Aboriginal Health and relevant experience in the Aged Care or Disability sector.Strong commitment to working with Indigenous people & communities, and an understanding of the issues experienced by Aboriginal people with a disability and their carers living in the community.Experience with provision of NDIS services and knowledge of My Aged Care packages, relevant legislation, and standards.Understanding of the needs of frail aged, people with disability and their carers, ability to assess support needs, develop care plans and facilitate access to services that support those needs.Ability to monitor, supervise and direct staff in the management of client needs, and resolve difficult situations and crises with staff, clients, carers, and service providers.High level of verbal and written communication, research, problem solving and negotiation skills. Demonstrated skills in report writing and recording case notes.Well-developed interpersonal skills, integrity, and a sensitive approach to working with individuals. Sense of self-responsibility and motivation in approach to workload and time management. Must be able to work unsupervised, be reliable and meet deadlines.Must hold a valid NSW unrestricted driver licence, and be willing to travel widely within the community as required.It is a condition of employment with Sydney Region Aboriginal Corporation that all applicants have a National Police Records Check and a Working with Children (WWC) Check. All offers of employment are provisional pending the outcome of these checks.
