Our client is 100% Australian owned and operated, whose products are marketed worldwide. They have established themselves as a market leader in process and manufacturing. Due to growth, we're seeking an Environmental Manager to join their team in the Hunter Valley. Reporting to the Group Manager – Maintenance and Projects, the Environmental Manager is responsible for the implementation, maintenance and monitoring of the Environmental Management System, and environmental legislative compliance.
This role presents an opportunity for either an experienced Environmental Manager or Officer to take the next step in their career and manage an Environmental and Sustainability Program, or an opportunity for a student/recent graduate to take on a new challenge and be mentored into the role. We are open to discussions with anyone who believes they have the ability to meet the requirements of the role, and remuneration will be discussed commensurate to experience.
The role: Drive Environmental and Sustainability goals Conduct Environmental monitoring and inspection activities Coordinate and provide day-to-day specialist advice and support to internal stakeholders Identify and effectively manage Environmental and Sustainability risks Establish, monitor and report on key Environmental and Sustainability objectives Monitor, measure and evaluate Environmental and Sustainability data and reports and act to resolve non-conformances Assist in the establishment of internal reporting mechanisms to the Senior Leadership Team Implement continuous review and improvement of our Environmental Management System Actively participate in new projects and programs Maintain up-to-date knowledge on all relevant legal, regulatory and company environmental requirements, ensuring management and staff are kept informed of any relevant changes and the organization continues to comply with its requirements Be willing to travel between operational locations as required
What we're looking for: Tertiary education in an Environmental or Sustainability field Sound understanding of relevant legislation, standards and principles Demonstrated ability to undertake investigations and research Strong stakeholder management skills Ability to manage competing demands and priorities Excellent problem solving and communication skills
