Our client is seeking a Dispute Resolution Officer to join their dedicated team.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the promotion and protection of human rights in Queensland.
You will be part of a team that provides expert dispute resolution services, supports policy development, and contributes to public understanding of human rights and responsibilities.
What you'll do: Analyse, manage and resolve complaints received in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures.Assess the most appropriate means of dispute resolution for each complaint, including facilitating conciliation conferences.Maintain accurate and timely records of complaint management and enquiries.Take personal responsibility for learning and development, sharing feedback and insight to contribute to building the team's knowledge.Answer enquiries from the public and provide appropriate information and referrals.Perform other duties as directed, including supporting training and community engagement functions.What you bring: Ability to interpret legislation and apply knowledge of Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 and Human Rights Act 2019.Experience conducting effective dispute resolution processes including conciliation conferences.Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with diverse complaint parties, colleagues and managers.Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, including administrative and file management tasks.Clear, confident, adaptable and respectful communication, negotiation and facilitation skills.Resilience in dealing with confronting, disturbing or offensive matters.Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples are encouraged to apply.
