We are currently assisting our client, a leading infrastructure giant in Queensland, based in South Coast region Nerang QLD. They are seeking a skilled and experienced Program/Project Officer to join their team.

What project will you be working on? The South Coast Region is one of the fastest growing regions in the south east corner of Queensland. The region covers 6,587 km2 from the New South Wales border in the south to Springwood in the north, and as far west as the Cunningham Highway, west of Boonah. This includes 1061.017 kms of national highway and state-controlled road network, across three local government areas - Gold Coast, Logan City and Scenic Rim Regional Council.
South Coast Region is responsible for planning, design, construction, maintenance of state-controlled road infrastructure and ensuring efficient operation of the road network. The region also plays a key role in preserving future road corridors as well as reviewing and assessing applications for approval of third party works on or adjacent to the state-controlled road corridor.
You will be part of the Natural Disaster Program (NDP) department, which is responsible for project managing recovery and reconstruction works following damage to the state road network caused by disaster events activated under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA). The NDP team coordinates delivery of works on the ground at the regional level and works in collaboration with the Program Management and Delivery (PMD) unit who manage the overarching program and provide funding for the works.
Your role as "Program Officer", within the Program Controls team, will involve providing support to program and project managers.
Key duties: Monitor regional office projects for data quality and make changes where required within specified deadlines. Schedule projects in accordance with the regional office's "Monthly Updating & Reporting Cycle" using Primavera P6. Collate, monitor and report on the performance and status of program/project and financial support activities. Proactively assist Project Managers with Program Change Requests, Value of Work Completed/Monthly Accruals and Cash Flow predictions. Creation of new project shells including relevant geographical and financial data. Establish monthly updates and the creation of new Primavera P6 Schedules through effective working relationships with key stakeholders. Monitor project/program spend across the NDP portfolio and take appropriate action where necessary to mitigate under/overspends in conjunction with key stakeholders processing monthly accruals through SAP and monitoring project forecasts using 3PCM Unifier. Engage and influence stakeholders to achieve positive business outcomes when creating new projects and modifying existing ones. Compliance with the Natural Disaster Program Business Rules (to be provided to the appointed resource) is essential to this role, both in terms of adherence and monitoring. Develop, build, and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders. Key selection criteria: Proven experience of scheduling, preferably within a P6 environment. Extensive experience delivering high-level project/program support utilising 3PCM Unifier system. Excellent ability to deal with a range of stakeholders.
