Overview At GB, one of our key responsibilities is to support individuals who have been injured in the workplace, and assisting in their return to employment.
It requires care and compassion, and our Claims Officers are there every step of the way.
They do this by supporting the individual's recovery, liaising with employers and treating health practitioners, and positively influencing the return to work process.
In our Self-Insurance division, our claims team works closely with our clients, the employers.
This partnership helps employers reduce their insurance costs, and improve their business performance and safety record, whilst also supporting the return to work process.
Aside from the regular coaching and support from your manager, team and ongoing interaction with the wider intern group, at the end of the six-week program we will hope you've gained valuable insight into the insurance industry and a possible career with GB.
How you'll make an impact Six-weeks paid work experience; Opportunity to apply your knowledge to challenging, meaningful work; Relevant training and an individualised development program where you will participate in activities such role shadowing, project work, and performing the specific duties of a Claims Officer; Regular coaching and support; A pathway to possible employment opportunities – throughout this internship you'll start to build skills which will open the door to a range of career possibilities with GB!
About you Are you studying and/or qualified in Insurance, Allied Heath, Nursing/Medicine, Community Services, Psychological Science, Health Science, Applied Social Science, or Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care (or similar disciplines)?
This may be what you are looking for!
You don't have to have insurance, claims or corporate work experience, but a passion for learning, dedication to service and a motivated disposition.
You must also have a passion for helping others, as this is part of our DNA at Gallagher Bassett.
