About the Role:Orica has developed 4D, a revolutionary bulk explosives system that matches a wider range of explosives energy to changes in geology in real time, and we are recruiting fulltime 4D MCU Operators for our customer site at Dugald River Mine in Cloncurry.
The role will be based in Cloncurry, with FIFO arrangements available for candidates flying from Townsville, Brisbane, or Mount Isa. As a 4D MCU Operator, you will master cutting-edge technology that is transforming the mining industry, while being part of a team that is setting new standards in precision blasting, enhancing safety and efficiency in underground mining.
What you will be doing:Operate an advanced underground Mobile Charging Unit equipped with 4D technology;Deliver and load explosive materials into blast holes using state-of-the-art automated systems;Work directly with our mining customers to achieve optimal blast outcomes;Apply your expertise in underground operations while learning innovative blasting techniques;Be part of a team that is setting new standards in precision blasting; andContribute to improved safety and efficiency in underground mining operations.What you will bring:Essential: Underground mining experience in charging or mining operations, eager to be at the forefront of revolutionary mining technology;Experienced MCU (or similar) Operators seeking a new challenge and a technology-focused career direction;Individuals with knowledge of electronic blasting systems and a passion for achieving high-quality blasting results;Professionals with a strong focus on safety and customer service, ensuring the highest standards are maintained;Candidates with a current QESC security clearance or the ability to obtain one; andApplicants who can pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening.Our Commitment:Orica promotes and fosters a culture of inclusion and Equal Opportunity Employment everywhere we operate.
