3rd Tier Application and DevOps Team Manager
CMC Markets are hiring! We are currently recruiting for a 3rd Tier Application & DevOps Team Manager to join our IT Production team on a permanent basis. Please note that this role is only open to Sydney based candidates with full working rights (Citizen/Permanent Resident).

Role
Reporting to the Head of IT Production, APAC, we are looking for a hands-on leader to join us as a 3rd Tier Application & DevOps Team Manager. In this role, you will lead a team dedicated to delivering 3rd Tier application support and DevOps services, with a strong emphasis on project delivery while also supporting BAU.
Your responsibilities will include overseeing 3rd tier application support, project management, and ITIL practices such as problem and change management within the APAC region. You will also play a key role in enhancing our release management processes and application performance monitoring capabilities, collaborating closely with IT Development and Operations teams to identify requirements and implement effective solutions.
In addition to your leadership role, you'll automate and streamline our software delivery processes, ensuring rapid and reliable deployment of code changes while maintaining system stability, performance, and security. Please note that we operate onsite working and would require you to come into our Barangaroo office 5 days per week.
Responsibilities
Day to day management of the local 3rd Tier Application and DevOps team, providing guidance, support and technical escalation when needed.
Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment, encouraging professional growth and development among team members.
Take ownership of live service issues, driving their resolution to minimise recurring technical problems and enhance system stability.
Implement and refine automation, leveraging version-controlled configurations and orchestration tools.
Provide support and guidance to internal squads in utilising DevOps patterns effectively.
Develop and maintain a roadmap for continuous improvement of support, observability and DevOps processes.
Prioritise initiatives and features, leveraging agile methodologies like sprint planning and delivery to meet business objectives.
Follow and enforce the Change Management process to successfully implement changes while minimising disruptions to live services.
Key Skills And Experience:
2 years' experience of line management in a similar role.
Experience in supporting Microsoft .NET applications on Windows Server
Proficiency with CI/CD toolsets and automation, preferably Terraform, Octopus Deploy, and GitHub.
Skilled in scripting with PowerShell, Bash, Golang, or Python.
Prior experience in championing change and continuous improvement.
Knowledge of automation tools and methodologies.
Proactive attitude towards learning and adapting to new technologies and industry best practices.
Experience in working within an ITIL framework.
Excellent oral, written and presentation skills.
Desirable:
Familiarity with advanced deployment strategies, such as blue/green and canary deployments.
Proficiency in implementing and managing monitoring/observability tools, preferably AppDynamics, Splunk, and Grafana.
Experience in developing and maintaining internal self-service DevOps offerings
Proficiency in C# .NET Framework and Typescript.
Experience working with AWS.
Experience with HashiCorp Consul.
Information Technology degree or equivalent.
