Your role will involve conducting repairs, maintaining machinery, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental protocols.
Working closely with the Chief and First Engineers, you'll play a vital role in maintaining the vessel's performance and safety standards.
As a Third Engineer in the team, you'll make a positive impact by: Undertaking engine room duties and ensuring machinery maintenance Assisting with bunkering operations and waste oil pumping Complying with WHS, environmental, and quality management systems Training and mentoring engineering cadets Maintaining accurate records, including log books and oil records Performing emergency duties as outlined in the muster list Serco is a place for you To be successful in this role, you'll have: The Third Engineer must meet all standards of competence and fulfill the functions in STCW A-III/1 relating to the engineering watch or designated duty engineer in a periodically unmanned engine room.
Right to work in Australia (and on an Australian flagged vessel) and holding: AMSA-issued Certificate of Competency as Engineer Watchkeeper (Motor) with the following additional qualifications: Security Awareness Training Current Passport AMSA Certificate of Medical Fitness Valid Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) Confined Space Entry & Rescue Working Safely at Heights Appropriate seagoing experience in the previous three years Ability to undergo an AAD Polar Medical Examination Please note: This position carries trust and responsibility.
