Rivermount College is seeking to appoint an exemplary and inspiring Primary Japanese Teacher for 2025.
The role of a Primary Classroom Teacher at Rivermount College is to maximise the engagement of students and their learning outcomes by delivering high quality teaching in a safe and supportive learning environment, whereby each student can realise their potential.
The successful candidate will be collaborative, show initiative, be fluent in Japanese, and have a strong understanding of Japanese culture. They will also have a demonstrated record in inspiring a passion for Japanese language and culture in Primary School learners.
This position is a Permanent Full Time employment opportunity commencing at the beginning of 2025.
Key Responsibilities Plan, prepare and deliver effective teaching and learning programs for every student in allocated classes, which are aligned with national, state and College guidelines.Mark, assess and moderate student's work in a timely manner and maintain accurate records in relation to each student's progress.Maintain teaching competency and currency of knowledge of relevant curriculum programs.Attend and conduct parent/teacher interviews and information evenings as required, ensuring that notes from these are recorded on TASS. Work as part of the team to achieve the aims and objectives of the school and develop cooperative relationships.Ensure an inclusive classroom environment for all students.Complete administrative tasks as required in a thorough and punctual manner.Actively participate in the College's extensive co-curricular program. Contribute to the establishment and maintenance of a supportive school environment. Selection Criteria: Bachelor of Education or a degree / qualification with a Postgraduate Teaching Qualification.Previous experience in teaching Japanese language and culture to students across P-6. Current Queensland College of Teachers Registration.Excellent knowledge and experience teaching in the primary years, and a thorough understanding of the Australian Curriculum, with proven effectiveness benchmarked against the AITSL Professional Standards for Teachers.Competent at integrating digital technology into a contemporary learning environment. Possess strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and interact with both adults and students.Be able to work independently but also as part of a dynamic, creative, and collaborative team.Effective behavioural management, planning and organisational skills.Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.An enthusiastic, self-motivated, and professional attitude.
