Selection CriteriaDemonstrated knowledge and expertise in the area of inclusive education and supporting learners with additional needs.Capacity to provide advice and support to school staff in respect to disability inclusion.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with effective communication skills.Capacity to develop positive working relationships with staff, parents, and students with significant disabilities.Proactive problem-solving approach with a resilient outlook towards supporting students with complex needs.RoleMonday 8.30am - 4.30pm Tuesday - Friday 8.30am - 3.30pm Support to StudentsAssist students with specific learning needs and help with coordinating routines.Assist students with tasks set out by the teacher.Communicate with teachers regarding student needs and behavioural issues.Attend excursions or camps as required.Advocate for students with disabilities and work with staff to implement support strategies.Support students with disabilities during the transition to Greenvale Secondary College.Ensure student involvement in setting learning targets during the IEP process.Promote a culture of high expectations for students with disabilities.AdministrationAttend meetings and provide feedback on student progress.Take minutes for the Disability Inclusion Team Leader.Assist with various administrative tasks as directed.Support in the facilitation of homework club and small literacy/numeracy groups.Act as a source of advice for staff about differentiated teaching strategies.ResponsibilitiesThe Inclusion Support Staff member will ensure students with disabilities are engaged in education and meeting their learning goals by working collaboratively with the school's teaching team and external services.
