Location ProfileThe community of Greenvale has long-awaited its own secondary school and is eager for it to be a success story. Our school opened in 2022 and is growing steadily, living up to this ambition. In 2025, the College will add the Year 10 cohort and commence program planning for senior secondary options.
At Greenvale Secondary College, we focus on supporting individual students in their learning and social development. We offer extension and enrichment, as well as interventions and dedicated support for students who need it.
Selection CriteriaDemonstrated knowledge and expertise in inclusive education and supporting learners with additional needs.Capacity to provide advice and support to school staff regarding disability inclusion.Ability to work and collaborate effectively in a team environment.Capacity to support and develop positive working relationships with staff, parents, and students.Proactive approach to problem-solving with a resilient outlook towards supporting students with complex needs.RoleSupport to Students:
Assist students with specific learning needs and help with coordinating routines.Assist students with tasks as set out by the teacher.Communicate with teachers regarding student needs and behavioral issues.Attend excursions or camps as required.Advocate for students with disabilities and additional needs.Support students with disabilities during transitions to Greenvale Secondary College.Promote a culture of high expectations for the learning of students with disabilities.Administration:
Attend meetings as requested and provide feedback on student progress.Assist with various administrative tasks as directed.Support the facilitation of homework club and small literacy and numeracy groups.Act as a source of advice for staff about differentiated teaching strategies.ResponsibilitiesThe Inclusion Support Staff member will ensure students with disabilities and additional needs are engaged in education and meeting their learning goals, working collaboratively with the school's teaching team and allied health team.
Qualifications Desired:Qualifications and experience in areas of education support, disability, or teaching is desired. Working with Children's Check required.
