Casual Opportunities – School of Computer and Mathematical Sciences
The Faculty of Sciences, Engineering and Technology (SET)is a thriving centre of learning, teaching and research in a vast range of engineering and science schools and disciplines. The multidisciplinary hub develops future leaders, and actively partners with innovative industries to solve scientific problems of global significance. Many of its current academic staff are world leaders in their fields and graduates are highly regarded by employers.
The School of Computer and Mathematical Sciences is home to world class expertise working to solve some of the most challenging societal problems in pioneering ways. We have course offerings across two disciplines:
Discipline of Computer Scienceoffers high quality accredited degrees in computer science and software engineering and has strong links with industry and a robust research ethos
Discipline of Mathematical Sciencesprovides an intellectual environment, developing students with skills in high level mathematics. Specific degrees in mathematical sciences and computer sciences with specialisations in pure mathematics, applied mathematics and statistics.
We are seeking dedicated and passionate casual staff to assist with the delivery of our Semester 1 undergraduate and postgraduate courses, semester commencing Monday 3 March 2025.

Ensure you meet the essential criteria:
Conferral of an undergraduate degree in a relevant field
Good technical knowledge of the key teaching components of the courses you are applying for
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to clearly explain technical information to students
Available and flexible to meet the minimum hourly/sessional requirements for the course
Able to work collegially to support excellent teaching within the School
Are an Australian citizen or possess eligible Australian working visa*

Consider the desired criteria:
Conferral of a postgraduate degree in a relevant field
Teaching qualifications or formal training
Previous experience with casual work within the School
Demonstrated ability to educate or mentor students
Evidence of good student feedback in student evaluations
Evidence of good feedback from course coordinators
