ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITYCumberland City Council is proud to offer a Cadetship with our Building Surveying team in line with the 'fresh start for local government apprentices, trainees and cadets' in conjunction with the NSW Government.
This traineeship offers a combination of on-the-job work experience whilst you complete your university degree in this field.
The Cadet - Building Surveyor will contribute to the provision of high level construction and development services provided by Council to the wider community.
Minimum Requirements:Currently enrolled in a four (4) year university degree related to building surveying, civil or structural engineering or equivalentDemonstrated ability to deal in a positive and courteous manner with the public and other workersGood verbal and written communication skillsPossess administrative and organisational skills, including attention to detail, ability to maintain accurate records and skills in Microsoft OfficeAbility to work as part of a team with good interpersonal skillsClass C drivers licence (including Provisional 1 or 2).About this role:1 x term contract, full-time or part-time position for a period of up to 24 months35 hour week, working from 8:30am to 4:30pmAccess to Council's 9 day fortnight Accrued Day Off (ADO) arrangementLocated at Council's Auburn Administration Office, and may be required to work across any of Council's work locationsSalary information:The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award.
