About the Internship Program  At Laing O'Rourke, we're committed to equipping our interns with the foundational knowledge and skills needed for success.
As part of our comprehensive 12-week Internship Programme, you'll have the chance to work on a real project site during the summer.
Here's what you can expect: Hands-On Experience:  Get involved in meaningful work that contributes to our projects.
Guidance and Support:  Receive supervision, feedback, and mentorship from industry professionals.
Weekly Training Sessions:  Enhance your skills through specialized training sessions.
Networking:  Connect with a dedicated buddy and fellow interns.
The Internship Programme is open to penultimate year university students (second last year), who are intending to graduate in 2025.
It allows you to experience working at Laing O'Rourke, get a sense of our culture and gain a better understanding of the job and future career pathway.
Following your internship, you will receive priority consideration for our 2026 Graduate Development Programme.
There may also be opportunities for you to remain in the business in a casual capacity while you complete your studies.
About the Health & Safety stream A sample of the type of tasks you may complete as a Health & Safety Intern include: Apply your understanding of Occupational Health and Safety legislation to a live construction project Utilise common health and safety processes, tools and procedures during site inspections and investigations Facilitate a Fatal and Severe Risks (FSRs) review and/or workforce engagement activities Apply our highly regarded Safety Program principles to promote, and contribute to, a safety-first culture Support our Inclusion and Wellbeing agenda which ensures our approach to safety acknowledges both the physical and psychological risk factors in construction Eligibility and how to apply To be eligible for our Internship Programme, you must meet the following criteria: At time of application, hold Australian/ New Zealand citizenship or Permanent Residency.
Be in your second last year of university studies (penultimate year).
Be studying a relevant degree to the role advertised, Bachelor of Occupational Health & Safety / Bachelor of Civil Engineering or related degree.
You will be required to complete an online application form and upload your CV and academic transcript (online transcript is acceptable).
