We're actively recruiting 2 x Threat Intelligence Analysts for our client in Sydney, Australia: The RoleWe're looking for 2 x Threat Intelligence Analysts who will play an integral part in our client's proactive OSINT investigations into terrorist and violent extremist use of the internet and their 24/7 incident and crisis alerting system.
Our client's investigations and alerts are leveraged by the global tech industry, national governments, and supranational organisations to maximise their understanding of how terrorists and violent extremists use the internet - and how to counter it.
As a Threat Intelligence Analyst you will:Monitor, investigate and analyse emerging terrorist and violent extremist activity online through open-source intelligence work, following our OPSEC and incident response procedures and using your expertise in best-practice OSINT approaches and toolingRespond in real time to ongoing and emerging terrorist incidents with an online component and alert them to tech platforms and relevant national authorities, including through the use of the client's platformProduce short-and-long-form analytical reports based on our findings, including using data from the client's databaseLead on strategic projects and initiatives to disrupt terrorist and violent extremist use of the internet and provide capacity building support to tech platforms and governmental actorsCollaborate on projects as part of our cross-functional team of OSINT, research and policy analysts, developers and engineers, and communications teamContribute to our client's outreach and fundraising efforts by putting forward proposals for strategic work and advocating for partnerships with our broad network of stakeholdersLiaise with and provide support to a variety of relevant stakeholders, including tech platforms, regulators, governmental agencies and intergovernmental organisationsRepresent our client's work work at high level conferences, and influential strategic stakeholder engagements online and offlineActively contribute to the further development of the client's innovative technical approaches to online counter terrorism work and strategic priorities in response to the emerging and changing threat picture, as well as actively developing our OSINT capabilitiesRequirementsAt least two years of experience in open-source intelligence (OSINT) work and thorough knowledge of best practice tools and techniques, including adherence to wellbeing and operational security proceduresProfessional experience in dealing with graphic, violent, and/or otherwise distressing contentProfessional experience in working in a crisis, incident response or alerting frameworkKnowledge and understanding of terrorist and violent extremist use of online spacesExperience in working with incidence response protocolsExcellent intelligence writing skills and proven experience with analysing and describing complex findings according to intelligence standardsPassion for and commitment to our client's mission to save lives by disrupting terrorist and violent extremist use of the internet and upholding human rightsRight to work and residency in Australia and ability to work fully remotelyWillingness to travel occasionally, including internationallyWillingness to work flexibly as part of an international team based in the UK and Australia and as part of an on-call rota, including at weekends and public holidaysDegree in a relevant fieldProblem solving and adaptability: You are solution oriented and innovative in how you approach challenges and blockers. Our client has has policies and practices in place to mitigate against the effects of this work and to support our team in dealing with its effects, including operational security and wellbeing SOPs, and access to specialist professional counselling and therapy services. This role also requires regular on-call availability outside of core business hours, including on weekends and public holidays, which is remunerated with an on-call allowance and TOIL.
AUD70,000-85,000 per annum, plus on-call allowance of equivalent of a day rate per day on call on weekends and public holidays.
