About the Opportunity Operating from within the Revenue Department, you will provide support in the charging of and the collection of Council rates, charges, fees, fines etc.
These positions are fixed term until 30 June 2026 and 30 September 2026 (respectfully).
You will be: Assisting with ensuring the integrity of the rates system including consistency with the Queensland Valuation and Sales system Assisting with levying and collection of Council rates and charges including debt recoveries Assisting with completing Council's returns/remittances including Queensland Fire Levy, Rural Fire Levies, Pensioner Remissions etc Undertaking daily reconciliation of rates and charge receipts with rates debtors About yourself A person in this position will need a Certificate III in Business/Finance, OR be able to demonstrate equivalent related experience.
You will also have experience in; Interpreting (or ability to interpret) the Local Government Act, Regulation to ensure compliance particularly with respect to rates and utility charges Knowledge and experience utilising a range of information systems and software Working as a collaborative member of a team in a diverse work environment to achieve positive outcomes Ensuring high work standards are maintained, including a strong attention to detail, a focus on continuous improvement and ensuring compliance with organisational policies and procedures Mandatory Vaccinations (or a valid and verifiable contraindication) are to be evidenced when requested by Council.
