As a 1st Year Apprentice Heavy Vehicle Mechanic , you will be responsible for repairs to the Transdev John Holland Bus fleet.

Must have a current NSW drivers licence (Ps accepted) and be willing to upgrade to HR drivers licence if required.
Commitment to a 4-year apprenticeship opportunity including TAFE study at Wetherill Park Computer literacy with the ability to record accurate maintenance information Please note that if you have any relevant automotive or mechanical experience that is not shown on the resume please include a cover letter with as much information as possible about your automotive or mechanical experience Job description: Assist qualified tradespeople in the repair, servicing, maintaining and inspection our fleet of buses and ancillary vehicles Road testing of vehicles as required Manage ignition engines and other systems.
Diagnose brake, steering and suspension systems.
Repair transmissions and drivelines.
Identify, report and repair vehicle defects.
Hours of work: 6am-2.30pm (Monday to Friday) Depot locations: Please note that that we have 3 depots (Port Botany, Randwick and Waverley (close to Bondi Junction) and there will be a requirement to work at all 3 depots on a regular basis throughout the course of the 4-year apprenticeship.
Randwick: All day site parking available and close to public transport (bus and light rail) Port Botany: Free all-day street and site parking is available Waverley depot: Approximately 600 metres walk from Bondi Junction train station.
Please note that TAFE study is held at Wetherill Park.
