Central Highlands Regional Council is currently seeking an enthusiastic, proactive individual with excellent communication skills to be our Public Relations Coordinator.
This role will manage the highly respected and reputable public relations and events coordination function with the primary responsibilities to enhance the council's corporate reputation; deliver fair and open communication to the community, and deliver well-planned corporate and civic events.
In this busy role, your will support the Council by: Developing and implementing proactive strategic plans and activities to ensure the effective delivery of external and internal public relations.
Provide expert advice to council on media, marketing, reputation management, digital media, emerging trends and brand alignment.
Lead, coach and manage a team of highly motivated public relations professionals.
Uphold and demonstrate council's values; promote a whole-of-council approach to problem-solving and service delivery excellence.
Build and strengthen relationships with the local media, key stakeholders, partner agencies and relevant government departments to establish a reputation of trust and reliance.
To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to possess: Significant experience in leading and managing a team.
Proven experience in delivering influential and effective external and internal public relations advice, as well as develop and implement integrated communications strategies.
Significant social media, website and intranet content management experience coupled with relevant software abilities.
Significant experience in managing relationships and stakeholder engagement.
