Hamilton Barnes are partnered with a leading utilities organisation who are looking for an Application Packaging SME. We are seeking a skilled professional to join our dynamic team in Wokingham, delivering critical IT services for a renowned utilities company in the UK.
This hybrid role requires Three days per week working in the Wokingham office, giving you flexibility while maintaining collaboration with key stakeholders. The role is signed off inside IR35, with a competitive daily rate.

Responsibilities:Create and maintain application packages in MSI format and/or MS Admin Studio Virtual formats (App-V and ThinApp).Manage and maintain Windows updates using Configuration Manager 2012, ensuring all desktops are up-to-date and secure.Develop and implement deployment plans that mitigate risks, minimize conflict, and maximize operational efficiency.Coordinate desktop security updates to ensure compliance, balancing security needs with operational impact.Provide strategic direction and technical leadership within the Application Delivery team, contributing to continuous improvement and innovation.Offer third-level support for application packaging, deployment, and Windows update issues, resolving complex technical problems.Skills/Must have:Hands-on experience with packaging tools, particularly App-V and/or ThinApp.Proficiency in Scripting with VBScript and PowerShell, with the ability to automate tasks and improve efficiency.Strong knowledge and experience with Configuration Manager 2012 for managing deployments and updates.Proven ability to develop deployment plans and coordinate security updates in large enterprise environments.Experience in providing technical leadership and support within a collaborative team environment.Salary:£450 per day
