This role involves facilitating the delivery of the 1:1 program in a designated location (Latrobe Valley).The 1:1 (Mentoring program) supports individuals who are at risk or within the justice system. This program is supported by a team of volunteer mentors from Police, Emergency Services, and other community agencies. The four-week program provides a safe and connected environment for young people to engage in exercise and have deeper conversations regarding current struggles and challenges. The program is operated in a local gym, and discussion topics are led and supported by this role.About usEstablished in 1976 by Victoria Police, we are a not-for-profit organisation – you might remember us from a 'Blue Light Disco'!Last year we delivered 85 in-school programs to more than 12,000 young people. We work with Victoria Police, Emergency services, and other community partners. We have a rich volunteer network of more than 200 volunteers, and we now deliver programs at locations all over Victoria from Bairnsdale to Coburg to Portland to Yea.About the roleThis role is a fantastic opportunity for those who are dedicated to the personal growth of young people, acting as ambassadors of BLV. You will have the opportunity to create a positive impact in the community and influence the lives of young people.The 1:1 Program Lead is responsible for the co-ordination and delivery of 1:1 programs at the allocated location, with the support of the Blue Light Victoria Team.You will:Lead the co-ordination of activities and resources for the delivery of 1:1 programs at your allocated location.Meet with key stakeholders including Victoria Police and emergency services for the purpose of recruiting potential mentors and participants for the 1:1 program.Liaise with key stakeholders, including gyms and recreational facilities.Work with the Program Co-ordinator and sites to ensure agreed processes and policies are followed in relation to the delivery of the program including collecting and updating data for program management, reporting and evaluation.About you:You will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire young people.Proactive and self-motivated with a strong commitment to youth development.Qualifications in a relevant discipline (youth or social work, social sciences, community development or education) or at least 2 years of relevant experience.Current Victorian Employee Working with Children Check.Must pass a national police check conducted by BLV.Want to find out more?Head to our website: www.bluelight.org.auHow to ApplyIf you are enthusiastic about delivering high-quality programs and want to be part of a committed team, we would love to hear from you!
