About the Role: We are seeking an experienced State Manager in our Security division in ACT to oversee and run the operations of ACT and be a part of our team that will influence, support, and develop our people.
This position is based in the Canberra, ACT office.
Key Responsibilities: In the role, you will be responsible for:
Supporting the Operations Director of Security in the development and implementation of business plans to departmental strategies.
Planning & Resourcing of your team.
Controlling labour costs and operating expenses.
Reviewing and analysing the day-to-day operational needs.
Business Development:
Implementing strategies to identify and mitigate any risks.
Manage and provide leadership to the Security Operations Supervisors, officers, patrolmen, Concierges, Parking Officers and Security Services Assistants.
Connecting with businesses and government departments to ensure regulatory requirements are met regarding the provision of security labour.
Managing employees & ensuring the provision of service meets company compliance standards and departmental objectives.
To be successful in this role you will have:
Minimum 5 years experience in a security leadership role.
Cert 4 in Risk Management (desirable but not compulsory).
Current ACT Security Industry License or capability to get one.
Unrestricted Driver's Licence.
Demonstrated experience in strategic execution or project management.
Strong ability to build rapport and relationships with clients and all stakeholders.
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
Availability to run and oversee operations 24/7.
Proven ability to work under pressure with a high level of organisational skills to manage changing priorities and meet deadlines.
Excellent attention to detail for deliverables produced (includes strong report writing, documentation skills and ability to present effectively to a range of stakeholders).
Additional Skills:
Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously, to identify, analyse and solve complex problems whilst demonstrating strong initiative and proactive approach for process improvement.
High level of analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to communicate effectively and remain calm during high-pressure situations.
Outstanding interpersonal skills, negotiation and relationship-building skills, and ability to liaise effectively with all levels of staff and external stakeholders.
Desirable: Retired Policeman and defence background (desirable but not compulsory).
