Two Phd Positions In Critical Minerals Research At The Australian National University

Are you interested in joining a dynamic research group involved in exciting, important, and societally relevant geoscience research? At the Research School of Earth Sciences, Australian National University, we have 2 fully funded PhD positions available in critical metals research as part of our newly established Australian Research Council Centre for Critical Resources for the Future.
The PhD projects are:
Partitioning of REE and critical metals between crystals, melts, and fluids, and in situ XAS studies of metal transport. Experimental investigations of the magmatic-hydrothermal transition in carbonatites and the factors controlling REE and critical metals enrichment. The projects will combine high-pressure experimentation with advanced synchrotron-based techniques and studies of natural rocks to uncover new insights into these complex geological systems.

If you are interested in applying for one of these PhD positions, you'll need to gain admission and a fee waiver to the ANU's PhD program. Normally, you would require a first-class Honours degree or a Masters degree in an academically close subject.
