About the Role Support the management of DTP's bank accounts as part of the State's central banking system.
The role will need to be able to manage daily cash flows and forecasting.
Reconciliation of asset and liability accounts to identify and rectify any discrepancies.
Exercise professional judgement to develop solutions relating to the delivery of corporate treasury accounting services.Prepare corporate reconciliations and financial reports for consideration by DTP management and DTF, if required.Prepare accurate cash flow forecasts, banking and other treasury management activities.Exercise independent judgement associated with forecasting, monitoring and management of Consolidated Fund and DTP revenue collections.Provide support and advice to stakeholders on the interpretation and application of relevant financial policies and procedures.Implement changes to existing work practices that result in business improvements to treasury accounting services.Key Selection Criteria The Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) is seeking a skilled Treasury Accountant to manage a range of financial operations and ensure smooth treasury management.
This role offers the opportunity to apply your expertise in financial reporting, reconciliation, and forecasting within a dynamic public sector environment.
In this position, you will be responsible for preparing accurate monthly financial reports within strict deadlines and resolving moderately complex financial, banking, and cash flow forecasting issues.
A strong analytical mindset is essential for performing reconciliations and identifying opportunities to enhance processes, systems, or tools.
You will work closely with business areas to ensure financial activities align with DTP's accounting policies and practices.
Providing timely advice and support on treasury management, policies, and procedures to internal stakeholders will also be a key part of your role.
This position requires a proactive approach, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
