About The Role We are currently seeking an experienced Training Manager to provide leadership to a large team of Training professionals to deliver our first class Initial Driver Training Program. Reporting to the Head of Training and Academic Programs, this role is ultimately responsible for providing strategic leadership and effective operational management of the Initial Train Driving training program. This program operates within a dual regulated training environment (ONRSR and ASQA) therefore managerial experience within a regulated training environment is a must. Key Accountabilities Lead, coach and mentor a team of Senior Training Officers to deliver quality and excellence in the delivery of learning design, training and trainee management while promoting flexibility when responding to changing business and/or industry needs Work closely with the General Manager L&D and other senior stakeholders to deliver a training program that directly support Metro's commitment to provide exceptional passenger delivery. Management of the Train Driving programs with a focus on delivering a compliant training program to support business readiness for the awarding of the TLI42622 Certificate IV in Train Driving. Oversee performance that is compliant with relevant standards, regulated through the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA), Office of the National Rail Safety Regulator (ONRSR),) and/or Victorian Registrations Qualifications Authority (VRQA) About You Extensive knowledge of adult learning principles, teaching methodologies, curriculum development and evaluation processes. Certificate IV in Training & Assessment TAE40122 or ability to obtain (coupled with a tertiary qualification preferred) Significant and demonstrable experience within the regulated VET sector including ASQA audit involvement. Experience in the development and transition activities of accredited training packages and qualifications. Experience in the development and integration of training programs in a safety critical transport related environment (rail, maritime, aviation) Demonstrable high level interpersonal engagement experience with the ability to positively interact with all levels of employees, union officials and other external stakeholders.
