The Project UGL and CPB Contractors have been awarded the early works contract to support Powerlink's delivery of CopperString 2032.
This $5 billion iconic project will initially be approximately 840 kilometres of new transmission line running from just south of Townsville to Mount Isa that will connect Queensland's North West Minerals Province to the national electricity grid.
The project scope includes:
500 kilovolt (kV) transmission line from just south of Townsville to Hughenden330kV transmission line from Hughenden to Cloncurry220kV transmission line from Cloncurry to Mount Isa, up to six new substation sites.This exciting project will commence construction in 2024 and we are currently looking for a Training Coordinator to join the team based in Brisbane.
What will a day in this role look like:Liaise with supervisors and managers on the scheduling of required training courses.Create, maintain, and communicate the Training Calendar through the shared Training inbox, including distribution and collation of invitations and responses to participants and supervisors, managers, and sub-contractors.Coordinate the Project competency management system Damstra, specifically for induction and management of role specific competencies, certifications, and licences.Support subcontractors with the use of Damstra to book inductions and upload competency information in line with Project safety requirements.Coordinate training courses with multiple training providers.Maintain and respond to enquiries within the shared Training inbox.Assist with the coordination of training activities including room set up, IT and material such as training manuals and sign-on sheets.Work with the Training Manager to ensure communications are timely and key messages are consistent with the overall strategy.Generate training reports and data for inclusion in the People & Culture weekly and end of month reports.Create purchase orders, track funding and expenses, and reconcile invoices.What are we looking for you to bring to the team:1-3 years' experience as a training coordinator or similar within the construction, mining, or energy sectors (project experience preferable).Experience within the Vocational Education and Training (required).Experience in Training Funding, and or Apprenticeships and Traineeships highly desirable.Experience in the use of Learning Manage Systems (LMS), Damstra highly regarded.General Construction Induction (White Card).Working knowledge of relevant safety and environmental legislation.Valid driver's license.Knowledge of relevant statutes and legislation relevant to the area of work, e.g., Fair Work Act, Agreements, and relevant awards.Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels across the Project.Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and SharePoint.As part of the recruitment process, there are a number of checks which may be conducted to demonstrate an applicant's suitability for a role including police / criminal background checks, medical, drug and alcohol testing, due diligence checks, right to work checks, and/or reference checks.
