As Boeing continues to innovate and shape the future of aerospace and defense, we're on the lookout for a dynamic and experienced Global Systems Manager to join our Information Technology and Data Analytics (IT&DA) Global team, reporting to the Regional IT Leader, based in Australia to play a pivotal role in managing and integrating application and systems activities across Information Technologies for the following domains: Data & Analytics, Manufacturing, HR, Finance, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Product Support.
As the Global Systems Manager, you'll serve as the Primary Product Manager of all systems in the Global IT product portfolio. Using the IT&DA Product Operating Model, you will drive strategy, vision, and execution of the Global Systems roadmap, contributing to the creation and implementation of software development principles, best practices and standards to ensure the functionality, performance, reliability, and stability of global systems.
This role orchestrates the seamless integration of employee and first-level manager activities across Information Technology by collaborating with cross-functional delivery teams to provide technical direction and expertise throughout the software development lifecycle. You'll be shaping the future of application analysis, design and hosting, information management, architecture, computing security and cloud adoption. Your strategy and execution skills will be the catalyst for integrated plans, contributing to the development of business and technical goals, and objectives for IT&DA.

We are a multi-site functional group, with the main offices in Brisbane and Melbourne. There is opportunity to work flexible hours and from time to time, there are out of hours meetings with our global counterparts.

Product Management: Responsible for a group of Product Managers that deliver to customer and division needs, deliver value and enable collaboration, provide business agility to changing requirements, whilst sustaining regulatory compliance and working within agreed budget and by establishing well-defined and measurable Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) for each product in the portfolio. Technical Excellence: Strong Application and Product Management skills with advanced analytical skills and systems thinking. Communication: Strong ability to communicate with their team, peers, and other business groups, driving value for key stakeholders. Strategic Leadership: Contribute to business and technical strategies, understand modern technology strategies, have the ability to plan future work and develop application roadmaps. Resource Management: Manage team capacity and prioritisation, acquire resources, oversee technical approaches, and lead process improvements. Relationship Building: Foster partnerships with customers, stakeholders, and teams. Developmental Opportunities: Drive growth for employees and managers in the IT department. Innovation: Discover new solutions with creative thinking. Risk Management: Ensure the enterprise risk framework is being used effectively to drive decision making and priorities. Quality Assurance: Ensure high technical and quality standards and drive application performance and stability for our global systems. Cybersecurity: Partner with the wider Information Security organisation to identify, prioritise and remediate critical application cyber risks. Advise on best practice for secure application development. Safety Leadership: Uphold safety standards and foster a proactive safety culture. Continuous Improvement: Commitment to continuous improvement and Boeing's core values of safety, quality, and integrity. Education/Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in related Computing or Technology field or equivalent experience desirable. Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience delivering excellence in IT system and service delivery or a related field, preferably within the aerospace, engineering or manufacturing industry. Strong knowledge of IT principles and practices including asset management, risk management, cyber security compliance, DevSecOps and automation. Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to IT security, governance and regulatory compliance. Enterprise Software and Product Development environment, leading technical teams of at least fifty people. Experience in implementing and supporting bespoke and COTS IT platforms and applications across broad domains. Technical fluency and thought leadership with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization. Vendor, license and system lifecycle management experience. Development of high performing cross-disciplined technology teams working in an iterative/agile approach. Strategic Planning to drive towards digital solutions and experiences for our staff and customers. Problem-solving capability with ability to manage and lead multiple teams own and deliver excellent solutions. Strong problem solving skills. Experience in Software Environment, specifically leveraging Public Cloud experience, such as Azure and AWS. Knowledge and experience with hybrid cloud architectures, microservices and distributed systems. DevSecOps experience and in-depth Agile methodologies (e.g. Scrum, SAFe). Experience leading through influence and partnering with cross-functional teams in a complex and fast-paced environment. Global (multi-national) company experience and team/talent development preferred. Eligibility: Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements.
