The Opportunity
To support our continued growth and service to customers, we are recruiting for a Territory Sales Manager for WA, with the internal title of Account Manager - Surgical.
As the Territory Sales Manager, you will leverage your sales experience in the medical device sector to drive business growth across WA, ensuring more people can hear and be heard. You will achieve sales targets by providing industry-leading surgical and clinical support and training that align with the needs of our patients, customers, and the business.
Your success will be driven by your ability to create, manage, and maintain strong relationships with professional providers, including surgeons, audiologists, hospitals, and clinics. Your strong learning agility will enable you to develop extensive knowledge of Cochlear's product portfolio. You will collaborate with colleagues in your market and cross-functionally with other corporate teams to create business plans aimed at growing new and existing accounts. This role requires clinical expertise, comfort with addressing surgical needs, and a continuous application of business acumen.
Key Responsibilities Sales Acumen: Identifying opportunities with new and existing customers (surgeons) and referrers, building successful relationships with surgical partners, and demonstrating credibility with key accounts.Business Acumen: Leveraging sales reports, forecasting, and budget analysis for strategic planning. Utilizing various business acumen tools such as Miller Heiman, Salesforce, and contracting to drive informed decision-making.Surgical Support: Maintaining comprehensive product knowledge of both CI and Acoustic internal product offerings to effectively sell and position Cochlear's products.Advocacy Programs: Collaborating with the Clinical Affairs (CA) team to ensure clinical support and expertise are delivered to audiology partners via the CA team.Customer Experience/Support: Providing support in the operating theatre for Cochlear Implant procedures, especially during the start-up phase for new surgeons, staff, or hospitals, and offering ongoing support as necessary. Striving to delight customers through exceptional service and support.Event Organization and Referral Development: Organizing customer and candidate events to drive engagement and developing referral networks to expand Cochlear's reach and impact.About You We are looking for individuals who share our passion for delivering quality hearing solutions. To add value to Cochlear in this role, you should demonstrate the following skills and experience:
Required Skills Detail-oriented and dynamic, with a driven, can-do attitudeBachelor's degree in business, healthcare, or a relevant field.Experience in medical devices sales, particularly within an operating room environment.Previous territory management experience is highly regarded.Professionalism and cultural sensitivity.Excellent sales and influencing skills.Outstanding communication skills - oral, written, and presentation. Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders with a sense of urgency.Good understanding of institutional and B2B sales processes along with sound commercial acumen.Experience organizing customer events and developing referral networks.Ideal Skills Prior clinical experience, preferably with cochlear implants or bone conduction implant technologies.Previous experience in audiology, diabetes or business development will be highly regarded.How We Recognise Your Contribution At Cochlear, we strive to create an environment where our people enjoy coming to work.
