Location: Department of Health are seeking applications for a permanent full time Senior Legal Adviser vacancy, located at 22 Elizabeth Street Hobart.
This role supports and manages regulatory governance and accountability obligations, including Right to Information.
The Role:
In collaboration with key stakeholders, provide advice to support legislative review, including preparing or coordinating relevant legal policy advice, Minutes, Cabinet submissions, Parliamentary Papers, instructions to the Office of Parliamentary Counsel and other documentation.
Assist with managing the Department's legal liability claims, in consultation with the State Litigation Office and the Office of the Solicitor-General.
Provide advice and legal policy guidance on contracting issues, including tendering advice, contract negotiations and developing agreements and assist with managing the Agency's statutory obligations, including Right to Information Requests.
The Team:
Legal Services is part of the Department of Health (DoH), providing legal policy advice to support the delivery of health care across Tasmania.
This work spans a diverse range of areas, including administrative law, policy development, contract management, and litigation coordination.
We advise the Minister, Secretary, Deputy Secretaries, and senior managers on complex legal policy and legislative matters, helping navigate challenges facing Tasmania's health system.
From high-level analysis to practical problem-solving, our team contributes to ensuring that health services are delivered effectively, lawfully, and in the best interests of the community.
Details of appointment:
Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $104,756 to $118,730 per annum.
Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
