Snapshot of Responsibilities:
You will contribute to the profitability of the company by executing buying strategies across particular categories in-line with the strategic plan set in conjunction with the Head of Buying, whom you report to. You will source and identify new product ranges that align with the overall business direction through innate commercial merchandise buying skills. Effectively negotiating cost prices with vendors to drive product profitability; at all points you will drive commercial outcomes for your product portfolio. Executing promotional offers for both digital & store channels where formulating sales forecasts is critical to your category's success. With excellent communication skills, you will work with local and overseas suppliers to ensure success in the delivery of your portfolio. You will need: Proven experience as a self-sufficient buyer or product developer in either a retail or wholesale environment working with hardgoods. Unfortunately, FMCG or apparel experience won't be right for this role. A strong commercial focus with excellent numerical ability and analytical skills to identify category opportunities. You innately know consumer behaviour and have a unique ability to recognise & interpret trends both locally and internationally to tailor product opportunities that will have a commercial return on investment. You have solid supplier relationships both locally and offshore. You are a team player; this business is all about the team and being supportive, which comes from the top down!
