Our ideal candidate will have established local networks or the ability to develop them, excellent interpersonal skills and administration skills with a passion for supporting others.
We have a part- time role with between 22.8 to 38 hours per week working at our Alice Springs hub.
Job DescriptionJob Description As a Parent Pathways Support Mentor at Bamara, you will play a crucial role in supporting and guiding parents to achieve their education and employment goals.
Your primary responsibility will be to provide mentorship, advice, and assistance to parents who are participating in the Parent Pathways program.
Your main tasks will include:
Meeting with parents to assess their individual needs, goals, and challenges.Developing personalised pathways and plans to help parents overcome barriers to education and employment.Providing one-on-one mentorship and support to empower parents in achieving their education and employment objectives.Connecting parents with relevant community services, resources, and training opportunities.Monitoring progress and providing ongoing guidance to ensure parents remain on track towards their goals.Collaborating with internal teams and external partners to create holistic support networks for parents.This position requires someone who is empathetic, patient, and understanding, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Desired Skills and ExperienceDesired Skills and Experience Proven experience in providing support and guidance to individuals facing barriers to employment or educationCertificate III qualifications in Community Services or Employment Services or willingness to obtainDemonstrated ability to develop and implement tailored support plans for clientsStrong communication skills, with the ability to engage and build rapport with diverse client groupsKnowledge of local community resources and support services available to parents and caregiversAbility to maintain accurate records and documentation in line with program requirementsUnderstanding of the challenges faced by parents seeking to re-enter the workforce or pursue further educationEmpathy, patience, and a non-judgmental approach when working with individuals from diverse backgrounds
