Strategy And Deals Associate Intern

The Strategy and Deals Associate works directly with: a) the SVP, Head of Strategic Planning and Analysis ("SPA"); and b) the SVP, Head of Private Equity ("PE"), to support the firm's evaluation and execution of investment, acquisition and wider transaction opportunities. Such opportunities will typically arise from, but are not limited to, the firm's corporate development strategy and/or its private equity activities. The Strategy and Deals Associate's primary responsibilities are researching, analyzing, modelling and reporting on the macro and micro aspects of such opportunities and the markets they operate in. Principal Accountabilities: Preparation of opportunity/target analysis, including: Market outlook, e.g. gathering, review and distillation of third party and adviser reports, together with publicly available information Financial performance, e.g. historical trends, underlying earnings, cash flows, robustness of balance sheet and financial projections Operational matters, e.g. headcount, operating model Financial modelling, including deal models, discounted cash flow, returns metrics and KPIs Liaison with and coordination of third party advisers, including investment banks, professional services firms and legal advisers Internal cross-function co-ordination to bring together in-house knowledge/views when evaluating strategic fit/synergies, specifically including: product design, distribution, operations, finance Maintaining of knowledge data base Preparation of reports/presentation materials to support executive decision making Deal execution, e.g. review of sale and purchase agreements, closing mechanisms Support the SPA and PE teams with timely commentary and analysis of industry trends and competitive analysis, Performs related duties as assigned. Enroll for training, and eventual qualification, in the CFA. Preferred Qualifications: In the progress of Bachelor's degree required in business, finance, or other related area. Rising Junior Has significant experience in financial modelling. CFA training candidate preferred. 0-1 year of relevant work experience. High attention to detail with exceptional organizational skills. Interest in and a solid knowledge about the markets and the industry Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret and summarize large amounts of data. PC skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Powerpoint and Excel with the ability to learn new programs quickly. #J-18808-Ljbffr
