About Us Electro Optic Systems (EOS) is currently searching for an experienced Strategic Sourcing Manager to join our supply chain team on a permanent full time basis.

The Strategic Sourcing Manager heads up the Strategic Sourcing team (comprising Technical Procurement Officers) within EOS Defence Systems Supply Chain.
Primary Duties: Develop and improve EOS DS' strategic relationships with suppliers locally and internationally.Identification and selection of appropriate vendors for the supply of make-to-order materials and allied services in accordance with EOS DS technical, engineering and commercial objectives.Support the design and production of EOS DS equipment and components and add competitive advantage to EOS DS in the strategic sourcing of materials; seeking opportunities to obtain best value for money from our supply chain partners.Contribute to the development and enhancement EOS DS' global supply chain efficiencies and strategy; e.g. identify opportunities for procurement hubs, global versus local sourcing for EOS DS' product manufacture both in Australia and overseas.Support the costing and estimating needs of the business by obtaining competitive quotes from external parties for goods and services.Maintain awareness of vendor lead times to deliver items critical to production. Negotiate changes to lead times with vendors as required, and update systems.Be a point of escalation where vendor lead time commitments are not being met, and manage mitigating actions to address this.Apply technical & strategic procurement expertise to resolve quality matters, vendor capability and capacity and lead time constraints.Review stockholdings with Production Planners to ensure adequate stock levels are held to align with the Production Schedule to meet company objectives.Work with EOS' ERP and MRP system to optimise flow of materials through the supply chain.Develop and maintain an understanding of EOS DS' material specifications and drawings and product ranges, and methods of manufacture.Oversee Supplier Performance Management of critical suppliers.Desired Skills and ExperienceAbout You International and local sourcing experience; at strategic levelThorough understanding of engineering drawings and Bills of Materials.Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing trade or degree qualificationAPICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certified Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM) highly regardedCIPS accreditations highly regardedHow to Apply If you are willing to take on a challenge and want to contribute to a proud Australian company that is growing rapidly then we would like to hear from you.
