All in the beautiful surroundings of Australia's top tourist town.But enough about us, let's talk about youAs a Strategic Communications Specialist, you help elevate the City's brand and reputation. Along with four other specialists, you take ownership of the development, management and evaluation of a portfolio of strategic internal and external communications activities as part of the City's upcoming strategic communications framework.You are an accomplished and experienced communications professional, comfortable using digital and traditional tactics to reach a varied set of local audiences and you do so with a constructive, collaborative and fun approach.You'll be joining a new team who are embarking on an exciting journey to redefine how we run the communications function at the City, and you recognise what a positive opportunity that offers you to help build and be part of something really special.You'll be comfortable developing communications plans that engage local communities, and building internal relationships, and you'll enjoy the process of connecting those two stakeholder groups through your innovative work.You thrive on variety. The way you design and deliver communications plans today will be different from how you did it three years ago. You might be using AI as a tool, or be investigating new digital solutions, but you are comfortable with the shifting landscape of communications and marketing, and feel energised by its potential.What you will bring to the teamA genuine and heartfelt desire to be part of, and actively contribute to a positive and supportive culture.Degree in marketing, communications, journalism, business or similar.5+ years' experience in corporate communications and major/complex campaign development.Proven digital communications experience across multiple channels.Exceptional interpersonal and customer service and relationship building skills including community engagement.Highly developed strategic communications development skills.Strong understanding of media issues and ability to work with the media.Strong understanding of consumer research methodologies.Highly developed planning, campaign, and brand management skills.Extensive experience and knowledge of marketing and communications strategies and ability to recommend changes and improvements.The finer detailsThis permanent, full-time position attracts a competitive Level 6 remuneration which starts at $95,019 per annum.
