Qualifications Required: Bachelor's DegreeMichigan Teaching Certificate – Special Education K-12Special Education Certification Autism Spectrum Disorder Qualifications Desired: Encourage the independence, socialization, and quality of life for students with ASDExcellent communication and collaborative skills with Pre K-12 to design/implement/ track individual programs for students with ASD using data based decision making and empirically supported strategies and interventionsParticipate in and facilitate team meeting using research-based problem solving models when addressing student academic and behavioral concernsCooperate and assist with team problem solving in emergency situationsAid with the preparation of data collections materials and contribute with analysis and interpretations of information and data to present results orally and/or in written reports.Take part in Individualized Educational Plan Ream (IEPT) meetings to assist in ongoing review of strategies for students when appropriate.Participate in assessments and collaborate with Multi- disciplinary teams members as needed.Prepared and conduct educational trainings for staff, parents, and community agencies.Facilitate meetings and training for coaches in efforts to collaborate, network, and disseminate information on effective practices related to Autism Spectrum Disorders.Participate in the preparation of putting universal supports in place for local building and students with ASDProvide and assist with after school parent groups and training while serving as a parent liaisonEngaged in consultation work with outside agenciesIntegration of technology into the curriculumProficient with data collection and analysisResponsible for all IEP paperworkExperience with Medicaid billingExperience analyzing behavior and developing behavior plansPossesses a caring, creative, energetic personalityExperience with START philosophy and modulesCrisis Prevention Intervention Training Job Description: Self-confident and assertiveAble to relate to and engage families, students, and local staffAbility to uphold an instructional leadership position in providing programming resources to students with ASD and other school personal when appropriateWell informed in assessing evidence- based practices for students with ASDPromote leadership skills in facilitation student staffing using meeting mechanicsThrough understanding of current issues, trends, instructional and behavioral methods for students with ASD.Organized, confident, and self-directedAbility to collaborate with multi-disciplinary educational teams to develop Individual Education Programs to satisfied student needs.Participate in the planning, coordination, and succession of training for RESD and local district personnel, parents, and students.Provide training, modeling, and feedback for paraprofessionals and teachers.Ability to communicate verbally and written.Complete Medicaid billing Physical Requirements and Work Environment This position requires long periods of standing, sitting, and walking.The position requires occasional lifting of supplies and movement of classroom furnishings during the course of the school day.The position requires occasional restraint of students utilizing the CPI methods.Work takes place both indoors and outdoors, with some travel to other schools or field trip locations.
