Details of the offer

Based in Tumut, our client provides maintenance and services to a wide range of customers throughout New South Wales. With field work 70%, workshop 30%, you will diagnose and repair Tigercat premium quality, purpose-built forestry equipment and specialised machines including tree harvesting systems that deliver processed wood.
Duties include:
Using your mechanical expertise, diagnose faults and repair/maintain equipment to the highest standard
Consult relevant technical documentation, manuals, schematics, etc where required to ensure the correct parts and technical specifications are used in all works
Liaise with the Service Coordinator on the allocation of jobs, and ensure all paperwork is completed as required. Complete supplier documentation and record keeping as required to provide evidence of work, in particular for PDIs / installations / warranty work / PSBs
Provide updates on diagnosis and repair options to the Operations Manager where required to ensure the job is appropriately managed and the customer contacts can be kept informed of findings, job progress and where required can authorize costs required to complete works
Liaise with the Parts Interpreter as required to ensure appropriate supply of parts for technical jobs
Maintain familiarity with company safety management plan, safety and operational policies and procedures and relevant safe work practices and safe work method statements
Conduct Take 5 assessments ofall work
Undertake Job Safety Analysis (JSA) assessments where Take 5 identifies hazards for control
Carefully follow risk control measures laid out in JSAs and SWPs/SWMSs
Knowledge / Experience
Prefer Diesel Mechanic or someone with relevant certifications
Experience working in a similar industry
Experience in forestry operations/equipment is desirable
A high level of ability to test, troubleshoot, service and repair equipment
Ability to adapt to dynamic work schedules and flexible shifts
Highly motivated, ability to work autonomously
High level of customer service, communication and self-management skills
High attention to detail
Good verbal written and communication skills
Current driver’s licence
