What you'll be doing Atturra is looking for a driven and motivated Service Designer on a permanent full-time basis, to work within the Cloud Business Solutions team to showcase their strong Service Designer skills to Atturra's clients.

As a Service Designer at Atturra, your daily tasks will encompass a wide range of activities designed to create exceptional user experiences and drive project success. You will:
User Research : Engage with users to gather insights through methods such as interviews, focus groups, and surveys. Analyse data to uncover key trends and user needs, ensuring that diverse user perspectives are represented and addressed. Facilitate Workshops: Lead workshops and ideation sessions with clients and stakeholders to co-create solutions, ensure alignment, and foster innovative thinking. Use diverse methods to encourage creative input and collaboration from all participants. Develop Service Blueprints: Map out the entire user journey, identifying touchpoints and backend processes. Create detailed blueprints that provide a holistic view of the service, ensuring a seamless user experience and efficient service delivery that aligns with organisational objectives. Prototype and Iterate Designs: Create low to medium-fidelity prototypes to test concepts and gather user feedback. Use iterative processes to refine designs, enhancing usability and functionality based on both qualitative and quantitative feedback. Collaborate with Teams : Work closely with developers, product managers, and other team members to ensure that solutions are feasible and aligned with project goals. Foster a culture of open communication and mutual respect to achieve the best outcomes. Present Insights and Recommendations: Communicate research insights, design concepts, and project progress through compelling presentations and detailed reports to clients and internal stakeholders. Tailor communications to effectively convey ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences. Manage Stakeholder Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, managing expectations and ensuring their needs are met throughout the project lifecycle. Use stakeholder mapping to identify key players and address concerns proactively. Champion User-Centric Design: Advocate for the end-user in every project, ensuring that all solutions are designed with the user's needs, behaviours, and experiences in mind. Promote accessibility and inclusivity in all design solutions to cater to a diverse user base. Apply Systems Thinking: Understand and map out complex systems, identifying areas for improvement and innovation. Design and optimise processes that integrate seamlessly with existing systems and enhance overall performance. What will make you successful in this role? To thrive as a Service Designer at Atturra, you'll need a blend of technical skills, creativity, and interpersonal abilities. Success in this role will come from:
Empathy and User-Centric Focus: A deep understanding of user needs and the ability to empathise with end-users to create solutions that resonate and add significant value. Prioritise user needs and advocate for them in every aspect of the design process. Strong Research Skills: Proficiency in various research methods, such as ethnographic studies and usability testing, and the ability to translate findings into actionable insights that inform design decisions and strategies. Facilitation and Collaboration: The ability to lead workshops and discussions effectively, engaging stakeholders and clients in the design process and fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment that values diverse perspectives. Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills : A keen eye for detail and strong analytical skills to identify problems and develop innovative solutions. Work collaboratively with the team to ensure solutions are practical, effective, and aligned with project goals. Systems Thinking and Process Engineering: An ability to view problems and solutions holistically, understanding the interconnections within systems and designing processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Effective Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences, including stakeholders from various disciplines and backgrounds. Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with design tools such as Figma, Miro, and PowerPoint. Understand how to use these tools to create service prototypes and designs, and to communicate ideas persuasively and effectively. Stakeholder Management: Experience in stakeholder mapping, building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders. Managing expectations effectively and ensure project alignment with business goals, addressing stakeholder concerns proactively. Passion for Innovation: A proactive mindset and a passion for exploring new technologies, methodologies, and trends. Stay at the cutting edge of the industry by continuously seeking opportunities for innovation and improvement. Guide the Product Vision: Collaboratively define a product vision with the product owner and team that will guide the design and development process, ensuring alignment with user and business needs. Define Succes Criteria: Help identify measures of success for end-users, stakeholders, and the business. Evaluate these criteria throughout the project to ensure objectives are met and adjust strategies as necessary. Delivery of Australian Government DTA standards: Contribute to delivering services within a quality framework that complies with Australian Government Digital Transformation Agency (DTA) standards, ensuring high-quality outcomes for government clients. Commitment to Continuous Learning: A willingness to continuously develop your skills and knowledge through professional development opportunities and staying up to date with industry advancements and best practices. Proven Experience: A track record in Service Design or similar roles with a portfolio showcasing your ability to lead user research, ideation, and prototyping. Practical experience is essential to ensure immediate contribution. Preferred Qualifications: While not essential, a degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field is highly regarded. Certifications or additional training in service design, systems thinking, or process engineering will be advantageous.
