JOB DESCRIPTION Job Description: Reporting to the Commercial Director, as a Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager at Mars you will manage sourcing categories for Direct goods at a regional, and sometimes at a global level.
As a member of the commercial leadership team and team leader of four, the primary focus of this role will be on strategy creation/planning, and execution to deliver long term competitive advantage by maximizing value for money and managing risk.
You will also manage regional and some global initiatives by leveraging supplier relationships and strategic partnerships to drive standardization across both regions and segments.
This role can be either Melbourne or Wodonga based.
There would be some travel required to ensure connectivity to sites, suppliers, and a small amount of global travel.
What are we looking for?
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Direct Procurement and supplier/customer management, Packaging-specific experience preferred but not required.
Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing strategic procurement plans.
A passion for driving value for our business by leveraging various sourcing channels.
Strong people leadership experience, with a passion for collaboration and performance.
Bachelor's degree at a minimum in a relevant field.
What will be your key responsibilities?
Develop and execute sourcing strategies using the Mars framework and the appropriate tools for the market category.
Actively participate as a member of the Global Category Team and establishes/maintains working relationships with the category operational buying managers in the region.
Develop and implement regional/global contracts and related Service Level Agreements including securing price, volume rebates, capacity, and service levels.
Build sourcing category expertise to provide market and financial insights and inputs to the operating plan.
