The Opportunity The position of Senior Strategic Planner will be responsible for managing a range of major and complex strategic land use and planning policy projects and tasks, including the preparation of strategic plans and amendments to the strategic planning framework, providing timely and effective planning information and inclusive community consultation activities.
The role is responsible for ensuring that policies and strategies provide for the development and maintenance of a high quality natural and built environment which value heritage, liveable communities and sustainable transport.
Essential Criteria Tertiary qualifications in Town Planning, Urban and Regional Planning, Urban Design and/or equivalent.
Comprehensive working knowledge and understanding of policies, relevant environmental and planning legislation and regulations with the ability to identify community and stakeholders 'requirements to guide strategy, policy, plans and actions.
Experience in a senior role leading a multidisciplinary team of technical professionals on a range of planning projects.
Demonstrated project management skills that facilitates the development, implementation and continual monitoring of strategic projects, programs and initiatives.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to critically analyse issues and develop and implement appropriate solutions.
Demonstrated well developed written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders, both internal and external and to negotiate outcomes and resolve conflict.
