The Opportunity
This position plays a lead role within the Identity and Access Management (IAM) team in the IT Cyber department. The person in this role will provide technical leadership to a diversified project team in a major effort to replace UNSW central identity management systems via the implementation of a modern IAM framework - a set of business processes, policies, data governance, and supporting technologies that enable appropriate and timely creation, maintenance and use of digital identities. The Senior Specialist - IAM Lead Engineer will provide technical direction, guidance and stewardship in accordance with the scope of work identified, agreed and signed off by the appointed IAM Project Board
The role reports to Head of Enterprise Identity and has no direct reports.
Skills and Experience
Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
Extensive experience in development and specifically leading development for Identity Management solutions, enhancing custom connectors and workflows for IAM product.
Experience facing the challenges of building software as a service, including deploying and maintaining software at scale.
Strong experience in Unix/Linux and Cloud services and experience in troubleshooting IAM Solutions in a production environment.
Proficiency in JAVA JEE Web Services and Azure AD.
Knowledge of certificates and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)
Knowledge of Azure AD, Active Directory, and Federation Services, as well as knowledge of OAuth2.0, OpenID Connect and SAML protocols and experience in managing external identities by creating custom workflows in IAM system.
Knowledge of CI/CD. Working experience in Git Hub, and Jenkins (or Bamboo)
Strong creative and innovative problem-solving skills, with a willingness to take responsibility for the software design/develop all the way to Production.
Comprehensive analytical and problem-solving skills and proven capacity to exercise initiative, flexibility and to be proactive in development of robust solutions to problems.
Advanced written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail for deliverables produced.
Demonstrated success working effectively and collaboratively on initiatives with a range of people at different levels within an organisation.
Excellent time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative.
Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
