Menzies is looking for a Senior Research Officer or Senior Research Fellow to lead economic evaluations alongside our research projects, contribute to the development and design of new research initiatives, and build capacity in health economics amongst our research partners. The Role: The successful candidate for this role is required to take an active role in the design and analysis of economic evaluations alongside clinical and implementation studies. Initially, this will involve a model-based analysis of the cost-effectiveness of vector control activities in Papua New Guinea.
Other projects may include systematic reviews of methods for estimating productivity losses in unpaid populations, comparisons of different methods for estimating productivity losses on the cost-effectiveness of malaria control interventions, and the costs and cost-effectiveness of malaria surveillance activities.
While the current research program focuses on malaria and infectious diseases, there is scope to expand to health issues more broadly in Australia with a particular emphasis on health issues in the Northern Territory.
About you: As a motivated individual, you will come with a distinguished record or working extensively in health economics and a track record of data analysis, developing and analysing cost-effectiveness models for health research, reporting research results and supporting others in collecting and analysing cost data.
You also have:
Postgraduate qualification (PhD or equivalent work experience) in health economics or closely related discipline. Demonstrated experience in using a wide range of economic evaluation methods used in health research (data analysis and decision analytic modelling) and appropriate statistical software (R, STATA, and/or TreeAge). Ability to provide sound advice in design, analysis and reporting of research when incorporating economic evaluation into a study. The benefits: Base Salary $106,422 - $146,717 per annum (Total remuneration package including superannuation $132,543 - $180,406 per annum). Generous leave provisions including 6 weeks annual leave.
