What this opportunity involves:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Property Accountant to join our team at Dandenong Square, a Premium Retail Asset in the South Eastern Suburbs.
As one of the largest retail centres in the south-east, Dandenong Square requires efficient and reliable financial management to ensure its success.
An overview of the role:
Prepare, review, and process month-end reporting including variance commentaries.
Analyse and report on the performance of the centre on a monthly and quarterly basis, including reforecasting reports.
Maintain tight control over operating costs and liaise with key centre management staff to ensure financial performance is understood.
Ensure accurate and timely delivery of financial reporting to clients.
Assist in the preparation of annual property budgets and reforecasts.
Work closely with the centre management team to resolve finance-related queries and issues.
Collaborate with external auditors for the preparation of outgoings audit and adjustments.
Calculate and account for percentage rent for applicable tenants.
Manage incentives/rent abatement calculations and accounting for tenants.
Prepare owner remittances according to agreed timetables.
Post accounting adjustments, accrual journals, and rent smoothing journals to ensure accurate reporting.
Assist with state/national compliance and audit tasks.
Perform any other financial and accounting tasks and reporting as required.

A demonstrated track record of success in a similar finance or accounting role.
Strong knowledge of property accounting principles.
Experience in financial management and reporting.
Excellent attention to detail and adherence to budgets.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial tracking and analysis.
Ability to make tough decisions and provide solution-based recommendations.
Strong relationship-building skills.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
