Senior Project Officer - Laureate Centre for History & Population Job no: 524104 Work type: part time Location: Sydney, NSW Categories: Administration, Business Development / Industry Engagement, Project Management Employment Type: Part Time, Fixed Term for 2 years (28-hour week, 4 days a week)Remuneration Level 7: $106,351 - $115,103 + 17% Superannuation Pro Rata.Location: Kensington, NSW (on-campus attendance required with flexibility negotiable) Why This Role Matters:The Senior Project Officer plays a key role within the Laureate Centre for History & Population by providing high-level strategic, practical and efficient project support and coordination for project teams and key stakeholders. The role is 0.8 FTE (4 days a week) for 2 years commencing May-June 2024. The role entails Centre coordination, reporting, budget, and analytical support, developing communications, building key internal and external relationships, and providing administrative support for the Laureate Centre and surrounding projects and teams led by Scientia Professor Alison Bashford. The role reports to Professor Alison Bashford.Accountabilities: (please review the Position Description for a full list of Accountabilities) Oversee the development of project plans and schedules and participate in planning processes for the Centre and affiliated research projects, including research funding bids and the appointment of personnel.Provide a high level of proactive project support and management to Centre team and stakeholders, including proposals for research funding, financials, and file management.Coordinate financial planning and resource allocation in consultation with the Centre Director. Manage budgets for related research teams and projects, including SHARP, ARC and other internal and external funding.Monitor, track and report on the status of project deliverables to ensure time, cost and quality metrics are in line with approved project plans for assigned projects. Provide guidance to Centre team in adhering to project plans and budgets as required.Develop and monitor the delivery of Centre projects and initiatives to achieve operational and strategic goals.Assess and manage Centre risks and issues and provide solutions where applicable. Assist in the monitoring of research activity and quality.Develop and manage effective communications with key stakeholders, both internal and external to the project, including through the Centre's website.Coordinate adherence to UNSW governance pathways to ensure projects are managed within a defined, consistent and proven set of rules for project development. Skills and Experience: To be considered you will hold Australian Working Rights or Australian Citizenship. Visa sponsorship is not available for this appointment.(please review the Position Description for a full list of Skills and Experience) Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail for deliverables produced.Demonstrated success working effectively and collaboratively on initiatives with a range of people at different levels within an organisation.Experience working with a range of computer systems and applications, including Zoom, Eventbrite, Wordpress and Zotero.Excellent time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative.Proven project experience, with an understanding of the project life cycle and development of project plans, objectives, budgets and documentation.Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively within a team, but also to take initiative and work independently while managing competing demands.An understanding of and commitment to UNSW's aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
