Initial contract until 30/06/2025 with possible extension paying approx. $1,120/day. Brisbane CBD Location with flexibility to WFH 2 days per week. Our client, a Queensland Government department, is currently seeking a Project Manager for the Queensland Critical Communications Modernisation (QCCM) Project.
The GWN Project is a managed service for the provision of Land Mobile Radio (LMR) services in Southeast Queensland (SEQ). This contractual arrangement is due to expire in mid-2028. In the Greater Queensland (GQ) region, outside of the GWN Service Area, the Public Safety Agencies (PSAs) and the Department of Environment, Science and Innovation operate analogue networks in varying states of obsolescence that do not provide the standard GWN features of encryption, emergency duress, and location services (GPS). These aging analogue networks have been at significant risk for several years.
Are you a Project Manager with extensive experience working with stakeholders across multiple agencies, and with a multi-disciplinary team to project manage and ensure alignment with the overarching program plan?
As a senior team member, you will be responsible for ensuring an innovative and future resilient option is selected for the future of this critical public safety service. This phase of the project requires that solution options are analysed by the technical, financial and project implementation specialists, and a robust and accurate business case developed to inform government decisions for the next phase.
The ideal candidate for this role will be a highly collaborative Project Manager able to integrate teams and multidisciplinary information into a coordinated high-quality product. You will have a strong understanding of government requirements for business cases, and project management skills to ensure all plans, schedules, and deliverables meet exceptional standards.

Key responsibilities include: Manage the delivery of a complex scope of work by leading and directing a large, multi-disciplinary project team ensuring the successful integration of activities is achieved and completed within timeframes, budget, and quality standards. Monitor, manage and control project activities in accordance with agreed plans, ensuring that appropriate corrective actions are taken to deliver your project on time and on budget. Proactively promote an effective working culture by capturing and sharing knowledge and supporting common expectations. Provide high-level advice, lead or assist the management of priority projects across a number of business groups across QGCDG. Provide expert advice and present recommendations to stakeholders on emerging project delivery issues. Manage project budgets, schedules, and risks to agreed tolerances, ensuring deviations are identified early and escalated when required. Coordinate the preparation of presentations, briefings, reports, and dashboards to aid governance bodies and senior executives to assess risks, operational readiness, and performance. Build and maintain stakeholder partnerships through effective communication, negotiation, and issues management to ensure continued engagement. To thrive in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following: Proven experience with project management delivery, methodologies, principles, governance, and reporting. Well-developed interpersonal and written skills to produce and deliver workshops, forums, presentations, project board reports, briefings, and submissions to stakeholders. Ability to exercise sound business acumen in corporate governance areas when executing project activities and monitoring performance. Proven ability to develop working relationships with stakeholders and become a credible advisor. Ability to lead and achieve results in a high-profile, fast-paced environment with changing demands.
