Primary Objective Provide high level project management, design, and technical services for the delivery of land and related infrastructure across the Northern Territory.
Context Statement The Land Servicing and Engineering unit is responsible for program management, design and construction of subdivisions, land servicing infrastructure, including trunk infrastructure, across the Northern Territory.
Key Duties and Responsibilities Work in partnership with stakeholders to maximise the outcome of programs/projects including management and review of designs, conducting regular review meetings with stakeholders, and negotiating solutions to maximise project and overall program delivery.
Provide advice and manage the design and documentation of complex land release infrastructure projects including the preparation of implementation plans; leading tender assessments and technical briefings; ensure all technical information is appropriate and relevant through quality reviews.
Act as the Superintendent's Representative, if required, and undertake engineering inspection of works throughout design, and construction to verify design and respond to site related queries.
Prepare high-level documentation and reports.
Contribute to a culture of responsiveness and achievement with a focus on improving the effectiveness and efficiency of client-focused services.
Participate in cross-organisational committees; attend public consultation forums.
Selection Criteria Essential Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or related discipline by a recognised Australian Institution or international equivalent.
Well-developed experience in the provision of engineering services/advice in land development or related environment.
Well-developed knowledge of contemporary trends/challenges in the delivery of land servicing including planning phase, complex Capital Works programmes; technical and engineering principles, legislation, standards, and practices relating to infrastructure.
Proven experience in project and resource management preferably in land servicing.
A high level of collaborative skills with demonstrated ability to develop, maintain, and foster productive working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Well-developed written and oral communication skills with proven ability in preparing and reviewing quality engineering documentation including drawing sets/reports specifications.
Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
A current NT 'C' class driver's licence or equivalent, physically able to drive 4x4 vehicles for long distances, travel by various means including by light aircraft, and preparedness to work for short periods in remote communities.
Desirable Tertiary qualifications in Project Management or related discipline.
Proven experience in the abilities to use industry standard computer aided design software.
